HOW THEY ARE MADE PFP Oak Hayfeeders are handcrafted from air dried, red & white oak stock. For the health of your animals, they are hand finished to be free from sharp edges or splinters. They assemble easily with an adjustable wrench. They are exceedingly strong and will most likely last longer then you own livestock. They are pleasing to the eye because they are built and finished to cabinetry standards. WHY THEY WORK PFP Oak Hayfeeders perform for two basic reasons: The first reason is because they are standardized to accept one full hay bale. When you do not have to break open bales to stuff feeders, you eliminate considerable labor. In addition, a tight mass of hay serves to restrict the volume of hay that your animals take with each bite. This means less hay on the barn floor.The second reason is a function of the floating grate. The grate further restricts the amount of hay that your animals can take with each bite by providing a resistive force, hence less on the floor. The grate also prevents your animals from burrowing into the hay mass and fouling their fleece. HOW THEY WORK PFP Oak Hayfeeders accept a standard width & height hay bale and allow for bale lengths up to 38" long. All the hay will be consumed, not just those portions that your animals find most palatable. You will notice a dramatic decrease in wasted hay and the labor you expend to clean your barn and your animals fleece.
